Fans of hard science fiction, military sf, space opera, and general sci fi adventure will find An Invisible Thread a must-read that they can't put down.
The story follows the journeys of various human and alien entities out into deep space during a tumultuous time period in the history of the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy.
The lives of these courageous souls and so many others are on a terrifying collision course for an encounter with the most voracious, wicked, and uncompromising war machine in the galaxy: the Brakikeen-jhennen. An ancient race motivated only by pride and destruction, the Braki' are expanding ever outward, straight into the same region of space that humanity and her allies are seeking to exploit: the so-called Fertile Arc of the Orion Arm. History is at a turning point, and there is no stopping the interstellar war that is to come.
- Young Earthling Erin embarks on a new chapter of her life as she signs up for a tour with the Earth Exploration and Expansion Fleet to help humanity's efforts to locate, catalog and claim deep space planetary resources for future exploitation. She gets more than she bargains for when all-out interstellar war breaks out during her tour.
- An alien entity known as the Beholders' Eye has been assigned the task of cataloging the events of history in this time and place. His people believe the time of humanity's passing from the universe is coming soon, and they desire a record of the events leading to their end.
- Stoic Ground Forces soldier Gideon has left Earth behind and thrown his lot in with the Battle Fleet. Willing to be taken as far from Earth as the Fleet will take him, Gideon has resigned himself to a lonely stint in Earth's deep space fighting forces as a means of escaping his broken life back on Earth.
- Menn, an alien of the yuvynn species, has signed up for a tour of duty in a mixed-species military fighting force comprised of humans and yuvynn. Her people have allied themselves with the humans of Earth in order to share risk and benefit in joint economic and military endeavors. But there is more to the yuvynn commitment to the new alliance than most humans could imagine.

Review By Chris Fischer Review Rating: 5 Stars Wow! A novel of truly epic proportions, An Invisible Thread: The War in the Orion Arm by author Robert Lee Wolfe is an entertaining thrill ride of a read . . . in this battle between good and evil, nothing is certain, and you’ll need to read to the very end to find out how this grand adventure ends. |
An Invisible Thread: The War in the Orion Arm grabbed me from page one. Author Robert Lee Wolfe has true skill in pulling the reader in, and his world-crafting abilities are second to none. Exciting and adventurous, the story will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. In this war story, battle scenes are vividly and graphically drawn. Characters are endowed with an intricate humanity, even for some who are not human, that makes you feel for their situations and for their positions. With ties to our modern-day complexities in politics, commerce, economics, inter-country negotiations and cultural differences, Mr. Wolfe’s work is a true work of art, and one that will not leave you the same as before you read it. I look forward to many great things from this author, and to his next work with anticipation.
